Why no DMs are being sent.

If you run into any issue sending DMs, feel free to reach out using the chat.

It can be frustrating to launch a campaign and see that no DMs are being sent.
No worries : in most cases, this can be fixed very easily.

Below are the most common reasons.

📱 Account login issue

It usually happens when:

  • the credentials are invalid

  • the secret key (2FA) is incorrect

  • the account is still warming up

💡 Keep in mind that in most cases, when you add an Instagram account on a given day, it will be ready to send DMs the next day.

This gives Wave enough time to complete the warm-up process and keep your account safe.
It’s completely normal if no DMs are sent immediately after launching a campaign.

→ Everything is explained in detail in the Instagram Account Login Issues article.

🎯 Audience issue

If your account is correctly connected, the issue may be related to the audience.

This can happen when:

  • the audience is empty

  • too many filters are applied

  • filters are too restrictive (for example, very high follower count or strict bio keywords)

To troubleshoot this:

  • Go to the Audience page and check the audience size. If the audience was just created, it’s normal to see 0 users at first. Fetching usually takes a few minutes

  • If it’s still at 0 after 10-15 minutes, you can create a new audience

If your campaign was running correctly and then stopped sending DMs, the audience may have been fully contacted.
In that case, you’ll need to create a new audience and launch a new campaign.

⏳ Working Days & Hours

When creating a campaign on Wave, you select the working days and hours (in your local timezone).

If DMs are not sending, it may simply be because the campaign is currently outside of its scheduled hours.

Double-check the schedule and wait for the next active window.
